Webinar - Transforming seed marketing: Lessons from Ethiopia

This webinar reveals how evidence-based policy options enabled a transformation of seed marketing in Ethiopia. Initially, seed marketing relied on a conventional system in which seed passed from seed producers to regional Bureaus of Agriculture to woreda Agricultural Offices to Development Agents, cooperative unions, and primary cooperatives, who, in turn, sell the seed to farmers. The country has recently shifted to direct seed marketing whereby seed producers are allowed to sell seed directly to farmers. This has significantly improved how Ethiopian farmers hear about and access quality seed.
