Rwanda – The Rubaya community gene bank

This document presents the Rubaya community gene bank, located in Rubaya sector of Gicumbi district in Northern Rwanda. Their main purpose is to store and preserve the region’s priority crops (maize, wheat, beans and Irish potatoes), but farmers are free to use the facilities to store and conserve other seeds and planting material.
