Over 30,000 Seed Samples from Seven Genebanks Secured in Svalbard Global Seed Vault

Despite the ongoing pandemic, the year’s second deposit is the largest since the major deposit in February 2020, which celebrated construction upgrades to the Seed Vault. This time, 85 boxes containing 30,410 seed samples were sent for security conservation at Svalbard. Seven genebanks from five continents contributed to the deposit.
